It’s no secret around these parts that I’m less than satisfied with the state of my eyebrows. Unlike the beautifully lush brows our very own Beth can claim, due to many reasons my brows can not boast the same fullness. My outer brows can use all the help they can get, which you may remember from such posts as “A Review of Smartbrow Eyebrow Filler“, and “A Smartbrow Review: Part 2“.
So what’s the deal with Benefit’s Gimme Brow? Here’s their claim:
There are only two color choices for this product; light/medium and medium/deep. I decided to go with the darker gel, but decided against actually using in on the skin below my brow hair as the Benefit site suggests. Getting a few smudges of the gel on my skin convinced me it was too dark for that use, but I did like the color it imparted to my brow hair. So in order to “fill in”, I used my normal pencil to get some color going below my brow hair, then applied Gimme Brow.
I can say that this product does add thickness. But the thicker you go, the darker your brows are going to look. In the above photo I had two light coats of Gimme Brow on. My sparse hair defnitely looks more thick and defined. The product also helped to contain some of my unruly brow hairs that have a mind of their own.
The application brush is pretty small (about 1/4 inch long or so), which actually makes applying Gimme Brow pretty darn easy. You don’t have to worry about the extra length of a brush hitting your skin where you don’t want it to.
At 22 bucks, this product might be outside the budget of some. The tube isn’t huge, so I’m not sure how long it will last. But it does do the job it claims to, so it will be worth the cost to some ladies that are lacking in the brow department. This might even be a good product to pair with Smartbrow, as I ran out of the brow gel side of the product long before I ran out of the liner gel side. This is a good product from Benefit, that lives up to it’s description, so at least your money won’t be wasted on it. I give it the thumbs up!
